CUG
CONNECTION: How did you come up with your model alias?
CYNTHIA: It's my birth name. It's kind of weird I chose to go by Cynthia instead of Cindy (for CUG). The only people who ever called me by my real name were Teachers. Lol
CUG
CONNECTION: How long have you been in CUG?
CYNTHIA: Well, I started CUG in about November of 2006.
CUG
CONNECTION: What was your main reason for joining The Coverup Girls?
CYNTHIA: My main reason for starting CUG was because I wanted to show unconventional beauty. I was tired of the clones who dominated the modeling scene. I was tired of reading articles, testimonies and conversations about girls being rejected and ignored by modeling companies because they just weren't "What we're looking for right now." I wanted to created a site where you didn't have to be perfect, and above all -- you didn't have to be naked in order to gain acceptance. I think i've achieved that goal so far.
CUG
CONNECTION: How has the experience been for you so far?
CYNTHIA: It's been.. amazing. When I started this site I had no idea that a year later i'd have more than 60 girls dedicated to my site, and determined to change the modeling scene. I know it may take a while to even make a dent in conventional modeling, but it's all worth the while.
CUG
CONNECTION: What would you like to see in the future as far as CUG is concerned?
CYNTHIA: I would LOVE to see the site reach 100+ girls, and especially gain girls in different countries. Primarily Japan & the UK. I would also love to see more participation and promotion, and also more get-togethers, and definitely more involvement from the Houston models.
CUG
CONNECTION: Where's your favorite place to do a photo shoot?
CYNTHIA: Oh man. I'd have to say outdoors. Natural lighting is the best and there's never a loss of ideas of what to do when you're out in the open. I find it uncomfortable when shooting against big bright lights and a plain background. It's sort of intimidating.
CUG
CONNECTION: What experience did you have modeling before CUG?
CYNTHIA: Little to none. The only "modeling" experience I ever had before CUG was (and yes i'll admit it) applying for SG. But that never went far, I decided not to even go through with shooting a set because I wasn't comfortable posing naked and I was very iffy about the contract, a dug a little deeper and did some research on them and didn't like what I was learning about them. I know much better now =)
CUG
CONNECTION: What do you have in mind for your upcoming CUG sets?
CYNTHIA: Believe it or not, i'm not the best with ideas. I'd like to do a darker set though, or maybe something on train-tracks.
CUG
CONNECTION: Do you have a cool/funny story to tell that happened behind the scenes of one of your photoshoots?
CYNTHIA: I rarely work just one-on-one with someone, it's usually the photographer and then some spectators, or other models. It's always great when people behind the camera are making you laugh and you're trying to put on your "model" face for the camera. It's just about impossible. During one shoot there was a model who was in the background working "facial exercises" with a coach. While I was trying to pose I could hear and see the model and coach out of the corner of my eye, and all I could make out were funny faces and weird noises. It was hilarious!
CUG
CONNECTION: What inspired you to model?
CYNTHIA: I'm not altogether sure. I guess, to be honest, boredom. I loved taking pictures, and most of them came out good, yet I was left with no place to showcase them. I wanted to see what i'd look like through someone else's eyes and soon after I scheduled my first real photoshoot. I've been hooked ever since.
CUG
CONNECTION: How has being a CUG changed your way of thinking and life in general?
CYNTHIA: Starting CUG changed my life in many ways. I've seen some of the most diverse women on the planet and I've learned to appreciate variety and find something wonderful about everyone in life. It's been very liberating to put something out on the internet that is respectable and that says "Screw what Society thinks! I am me, and I am not changing for anyone!".
CUG
CONNECTION: What do you consider the most irritating thing in the world?
CYNTHIA: Tardiness!! Or people going back on their word & breaking promises.
CUG
CONNECTION: What's your most favorite hobby of all time?
CYNTHIA: Video Games. It's a hobby if you're good at it =) But in all seriousness i'd have to say Photography
CUG
CONNECTION: Do you work? If so, what do you do?
CYNTHIA: You're lookin' at it!
CUG
CONNECTION: What's the best thing about your life right now?
CYNTHIA: My Fiance, no question.
CUG
CONNECTION: Who's your favorite musical artist
CYNTHIA: Nine Inch Nails, Sublime, and The Backstreet Boys. <3 Weird combination, I know.
CUG
CONNECTION: What's your favorite childhood memory?
CYNTHIA: Roller Blading with my best friend Meagan. (She's a CUG, too)
CUG
CONNECTION: What are your plans for the future?
CYNTHIA: Go to School, Get married, Expand CUG, Create a Business, Travel, Have children. Not neccessarily in that order, though.
CUG
CONNECTION: When you were eight years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
CYNTHIA: A teacher, I think. There's still some of that in me.
CUG
CONNECTION: What would you do if you found one hundred dollars on the ground?
CYNTHIA: Spend it on beauty products. XD
CUG
CONNECTION: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?
CYNTHIA: My hair. I wish it was easier to manage, and would stay in place.
